As a credentialed teacher, Laura believes knowledge is power and in today’s world it is important to help our children possess all of the tools necessary to be a successful adult. Attending college and obtaining a degree is not enough to secure a job in our present climate. Thousands of MBA’s and degree holding students are looking for work all over the state. Today, students need to graduate with a profession, something that makes them stand out from the masses with degrees. Here at College Planning & Tutorial Center we help students realize what type of profession compliments their personality and learning style. We teach them to think outside of the box and show them what type of employment will be lucrative in four to ten years. Not all students learn in the same way, nor do they test in the same way. The teachers at College Planning work with the students to find their individual learning style and help them develop the strategies necessary for them to reach success with the application process.
Laura’s goal is to help students reach their personal goals and aspirations. In doing so, she believes it is imperative to have a team of teachers with specific credentials. Laura started in the College Planning business in 1992 and has helped hundreds of students find the school that best meets their needs. She has been instrumental in helping the students successfully apply for and receive merit based scholarship money from $10,000 to $40,000 a year, including full rides. Our Class of 2014 received more than $2.7 MM dollars, our Class of 2015 received $3 MM dollars, our class of 2016 earned $3.2 MM dollars, and our class of 2017 has reached $3.5 MM dollars to date. This money is based on grades and test scores and has nothing to do with parental financial information. Laura has worked with students for more than 40 years and her passion is evident when you first meet.
